The Basilica of the Annunciation is one of two Christian churches in Nazareth dedicated to this important gospel event. This temple belongs to the Catholic Franciscan order. According to the general Christian tradition, it was here that the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary and announced to her the good news that she would become the mother of the Savior of the world. According to legend, this place was the home of the Holy Family.
